Sutina is a Sociology PhD student in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at UCSF. She studies the politics of knowledge, expertise, and authority in global health and international health organizations. Their work draws on global historical sociology, medical sociology, and science and technology studies to investigate how biomedical knowledge and expertise enables and are enabled by global power dynamics. Currently, she is focused on the role of technical expertise in the World Health Organization. Sutina holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts and Science from McMaster University.
