Jill Quadagno, PhD

Jill Quadagno is the author of 12 books and more than 70 articles on social welfare, aging and health policy. Among her books are One Nation, Uninsured: Why the US Has No National Health Insurance (Oxford, 2005) and the eighth edition of Aging and the Life Course (McGraw Hill, 2022). She is the recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Section on Aging of the American Sociological Association. She is also past President of the American Sociological Association, a Fellow of the Gerontological Association of America, and a member of the National Academy of Medicine. Recent publications focus on the Medicaid program including the long-term care benefit and racial and ethnic disparities in access to Medicaid.
