Dr. Jason D. Flatt (He/Him/His) is an Assistant Professor in the Social and Behavioral Health Program at the UNLV School of Public Health. Jason’s current research works to better understand the risk and protective factors for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias among LGBTQ seniors. He also is exploring the role of affordable and inclusive housing for LGBTQ seniors (Building Healthy Outcomes Using a Supportive Environment or Building H.O.U.S.E). His research interests focus on improving health among vulnerable aging populations, including sexual and gender minorities, racial/ethnic minorities, and other disadvantaged groups. Dr. Flatt's research expertise includes implementation science, community based participatory research, epidemiology, mental health and aging, and health disparities of vulnerable populations including sexual and gender minorities. He has an on-going NIH/NIA grant on the epidemiology of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in sexual and gender minority older adults.
