My research examines aging related social policies and life experiences in the Global North and the Global South and their interconnectedness. My macro-level research explores the role of political economy frameworks and ideologies in shaping social policies for the elderly in different polities. My micro-level research takes a qualitative approach to understand the lived experiences of the elderly and the caregivers, with a strong emphasis on social inequities, intersectionality, and individual agency among the marginalized.
