Volunteer Coordinator, Little Brother Friends of The Elderly, Cincinnati Chapter

Zaire Sims is a Licensed Master Social Worker. Zaire graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2020 with a Master's Degree in Social Work and from The Ohio State University in 2017 with a Bachelors of Sciences in Social Work. While in school, she was awarded the inaugural Young Scholar Program’s Outstanding Senior Award, which is named after Zaire, for my academic performance and commitment to service to the Young Scholars Program. Zaire has 5 years of experience in the social work field ranging from outpatient and inpatient mental health and service to older adults. While obtaining her Masters in 2019, Zaire interned at Cincinnati Area Senior Services (now Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH and NKY) with the representative payee program. In 2020, Zaire become a full-time social worker with CASS. Zaire is currently a Service Coordinator for Meals on Wheel of Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Zaire has received several recognitions from the Council of Aging, including the Service Excellence Award. Zaire was awarded the Association for Professionals in Aging Scholarship in 2019. Zaire is currently serving as a board member for the Association for Professionals in Aging (APA). APA is a non profit organization that empowers and supports professionals in aging through advocacy, education and networking.

Zaire is also an inaugural Fellow of American Society on Aging RISE Program. ASA Rise is a 20-week leadership training and mentorship program for BIPOC professionals within the field of aging. Zaire is dedicated to serving older adults with a goal of improving their overall quality of life. Zaire brings a positive attitude and creative ideas to the social work field. In her free time Zaire enjoys kayaking, camping, and traveling.
